Migraines and Dizziness

Frequently when someone is having a migraine headache they also will be suffering with dizziness or vertigo.

Here’s an example from a recent case study:

“A 54 year-old female patient entered the office with complaints of migraines 1-2 times per week and extreme chronic neck pain and vertigo for the past 10 years. She was injured in a motor vehicle accident ten years prior to her first visit in our office. The patient was seen 19 times over a period of 12 weeks. She received 3 upper cervical corrections during this time. The patient reported having 1 migraine 2 weeks after the first correction. Since that time, she has reported no migraine episodes, neck pain or vertigo.”

As we have discussed in this blog how head and neck injuries lead to changes in blood and cerebrospinal fluid flow to, from and through the brain. These type of fluid changes can lead to migraine headaches, but they can also lead to other symptoms such as dizziness or vertigo.

Dr. Michael Burcon , a researcher from Michigan has done some incredible research in this particular area. He has found that over 90% of people struggling with vertigo or dizziness symptoms have had a whiplash injury.

In his research he has also found that over 90% of people with vertigo or dizziness will have significant improvement with upper cervical chiropractic care.

Burcon believes that the correlation is not usually made because it takes an average of fifteen years from the time the patient was injured until the onset of symptoms.

When the cause of migraines and dizziness is addressed amazing recovery can take place. But the cause has to be identified and addressed.

Is it time to finally do something for yourself?

Don’t wait another day! It could make all the difference for you and your future!
